Born in Castelfranco Veneto (TV)
on October 3, 1955, he started his career as coach
of Giorgione colts in1988. During season 1988-1989
he took over from the main team coach but he could
not avoid the relegation to D division.
After three years spent between Treviso, Fano and
Empoli, he came to Ravenna team (C1/A division)
and won the championship. At the end of the season
he moved to Atalanta team (A division) where he
got sacked after ten unlucky matches. However, he
redeemed himself the following year when he brought
Vicenza team to top division. He was main coach
of that team for four years and got a Coppa Italia
(19996/97) and the Coppa delle Coppe semifinal.
In 1998 moved to Udinese: he got fifth place and
the entrance to Uefa Cup by defeating Juventus.
In October 1999 he replaced Sergio Buso as coach
of Bologna team until 2003 when he left the place
to Carlo Mazzone.
On January 26, 2004 he was called by President of
Palermo Maurizio Zamparini. He was coach leader
of Palermo team until the end of season 2004/05
where he got two historically important goals: return
to top league and qualification to Uefa Cup championship.
After a very short experience
on the bench of Genoa he moves to Monaco for six
months, then in July 2006 he gets again behind Monte
Pellegrino. Is dismissed from his position on 23rd
April, but is called up again after just 21 days.
